Chickens CAN't swim!

This is one of those things that you just thought you would never have to say outloud to your child.

We went out to feed the catfish and Linz wanted to take Ozzie her little frizzle for a walk. So, catfish get fed and she and I are chillin' at the picnic table watching the ducks and the fish. I get distracted by a text from DH and next thing I know, I am holding a very wet chicken.

Linz had put him in a bucket that was left out before last nights rain showers and it had a few inches of water in it. She explained that Ozzie was watching the ducks and he told her that he wanted to learn how to swim.

So Ozzie got to spend some time snuggling in a warm towel til his little feathers dried.

Chickens cant swim!

My hubby has taken our silkies for a swim on our above ground pool before - too bad for him he told me about it. Nothing happened so I wasn't too mad, lol. He said Gertrude seemd to really enjoy herself. Maybe I have the only silkies in the universe that think they are ducks........ well, they think that now after spending the day with DH!
