you will more then likely get a letter in the mail saying the case has been unfounded and closed. That is what they do here. Glad that your chick came home sorry about the dog.
Now this is 2 asbergers in the same thread. Now 3.....my 16 yr old grandson has asbergers and for some reason I thought it was rare. guess not....
People on the Autism spectrum = Aspergers and other issue like PDD NOS, etc..are far from rare. It is also highly genetic. I married an odd man and realized over the years something wasn't quite right..3 out of 4 of our kids have been diagnosed with Autism related issues, including one with Aspergers. No, this is not new..people have been documenting these cases for over a 100 years but the media loves to take something and turn it into something it isn't. Their father still is not diagnosed but my son told me the other day his dad actually admitted he thought he might be Aspergers. His mother and many of his family members had OCD, ODD, and other related "odd or crazy" behaviors; as he put it, and none of them ever got the help they needed. And no, none of my kids were vaccinated, nor was I, nor was their father.... This was not the reason for the Autism in our family.
We have been working with the Mind Institute in Davis CA, being part of social and study groups, etc for going on ten years now.....there is a HUGE percentage of undiagnosed spectrum people. They often get into a lot of trouble, self medicate, become homeless, addicted to things quite easily, etc....60 years ago many mental institutions were no doubt filled with undiagnosed Autism spectrum people.

Uh well I am odd. LOL My ex-husband was diagnosed with High-Functioning Autism when he was our daughter's age, but his family only just recently revealed that to him. I've been saying that it's becoming so common to hear of these 'disorders' in this range that it's only a matter of time before it just becomes a classification and not considered a disorder at all. They disproved the vaccination thing. I don't remember what medical journal I read it in, but I found it when doing research for a class project (unrelated topic it just was in the same medical journal as the article I needed)
I personally know at least 10 people with children on the spectrum and I didn't meet them from counseling or anything. It came up in conversation. I've met even more with nieces, nephews, and grandchildren that also are. It seems that every family has a child that is anymore. I'm sure that's not the accurate statistic, but it certainly feels that way. I'm fortunate that my daughter is genuinely a good sweet soul. I have had good 'bones' to work with so to speak. I took her to church today. We were invited by a friend. She had a lot of fun and I didn't mention to anyone she was on the spectrum. I wanted to just let her do things on her own. She tends to do well in structured environments anyway. Her worst times are after a great deal of stress when she's at home.
I'm not worried about CPS or anything like that now. I know my rights and I know how to defend myself properly. It was a great learning experience. It did make me feel iffy about listing anything on Craigslist again lol
Two Creeks, wow, what is that poult disease and how did you contract it? I don't have any poults. I did long time ago and friends do, so this would be something to go into further detail here. Such as are they natural carriers, what did you come in contact with to get it, symptoms, etc? Thanks!
My boss had given me 6 turkey poults. They started out in a small box, and the kids moved them into bigger ones and finally in a dog crate. The wife couldnt manage to get the last few out to turn loose in the coop so I crawled in and got them. A week later I was literally dying. That was the ONLY exposure I had to them or any birds so it was fairly easy to narrow down where I picked it up. There is another thread about Histoplasmosis thats is active and a goggle search will get you tons of info about the specifics
I also wanted to say that I love my chicken peeps and you guys helped so much get through this. I am working on putting together a tri-fold pamphlet that will give the basics of backyard chickens in it. I guess I haven't been the only person who has had trouble here. My daughter's counselor asked if I wouldn't mind putting something together so she can approach Health & Welfare about knowing when there really is a hazardous situation and when it's appropriate to step in for homes that have chickens.

I think with this new movement about raising your own food and being more self sufficient they are seeing chickens in more homes. I think kids that grow up around where there food comes from seem to handle things differently just know how the chicken lays the eggs seems to help. I have 2 grand daughter 2 and 1 they love doing their farm chores giving the chickens feed and water and scratch.

I do not like to believe scientific journals to determine whether they are safe or not. Plenty of scientific journals have made all kinds of things "safe" and through the years many things have had to be pulled off the shelves. It has been proven time and time again that many scientists work to prove what they are paid to prove..accurately or not. Vaccines are a huge industry and there IS plenty out there to show how dangerous and toxic they truly are. On that note, it stands to reason that a vaccine can react with the person's body and bring out what was already there..a catalyst type of situation. I will not say vaccines do not promote autism..there are lots of parents who did notice problems when vaccines took place but my point was that this was not our case...my kids have a genetic issue from their father's side of the family.
On the other hand..I certainly hope they never classify it as a "classification" and not a disorder, which it is. Some people may not be hit hard with the Autistic traits, while others are hit VERY hard. IT IS a disorder there are just many varied degrees of the problems. If one does not believe it is causing enough "disorder" in their life, so be it..but they need to understand there are plenty of people with these issues that are more severe and they can cause a lot of relationship & job problems in life and IT IS a genuine disorder for many.
I have 3 on the spectrum yet every one of them is very different. One spectrum person cannot decide what it is like for all other spectrum people...I have seen spectrum people get very defensive because they don't want to say they have a disorder...well..then don't...but don't think others don't have a more severe case ...it is a huge "spectrum.

That is good to hear. I know some wonderful Asperger people to be around and I know others that are really, really difficult to be around. My oldest son is right in the middle. He tries and he has a really good heart..but left to his own, he can be very, very verbally abusive because he goes into survival mode and cannot empathize with others.
Some might want to say that anyone in general can act this way..and that is true..but this goes hand in hand with his limitations with empathy and understanding others, self preservation..and many other typical Autism traits we work with. It has been a real journey...but I am very thankful all of them are very good kids.
So the case was found to be unsubstantiated. They showed up this morning and were very sweet today. They apologized for the whole thing. They didn't understand the problem in the first place. They said my house is very clean and it looks as though I'm doing very well with my daughter. They apologized again and said they'd send me a letter for my records.
