Today my coop was broken into during the day. I'm thinking racoon, but during the day? All 4 girls managed to get out of the coop alive.

Anyway, my poor Evening our Austrolorp had her tail feathers pulled out. She's doing okay, I saw her eat and drink a bit. her backside is a bit bloody.

All 4 pullets are 9 weeks old and are in their brooder in the basement all huddled together. It's late in the day. Should I separate Evening from the rest or is it okay to leave them until tomorrow morning?

Any special treatment for her poor backside?
Thanks!!

The same happened to my dear August, but it was a hawk, while I was at home so he survived. Also has his tail pulled, and some talon punctures/scratches.
I believe the best thing to do is to leave it alone, let it heal by itself. But if others do start pecking, make sure to seperate her, and watch for any possible infection as well! Keep in mind she might get some bruises, so some greenish/purple skin isn’t too odd!
