Chickens coming back home.

We want to give our Nextdoor neighbor some hens. They live a bit away but can hear our roosters. We only have wire fencing and they plan to free range.

Is there a risk of the chickens trying to come back home?

They will need to keep the chickens in the coop for a week or two in order to teach them where their new home is.

There is a chance that they will try to come rejoin their previous flock anyway, but once they form the habit of living in the new coop they are likely to return there.
