Chickens digging around water bowl

I keep my waterers on cinder blocks too. It helps from getting dirt in the water too. I actually turn the sprinkler on for the chickens to enjoy the wet ground. They love it! It's been so hot that I will also go out and just hose down the run real good so they can have nice cool places to dig little holes and lay down in.

I'm with Ranchhand. I have two water-ers in all my coops. Always a back up. I raise some quail & read the quail can die with in one hour without water. I would feel bad to find any pet are livestock dead becau

se I didn't supply enough water for them or feed. I have two feeders in my coops as well.
