Chickens don’t like Carhartt

Chickens can be so silly, haha. Mine have a variety of shovels and brooms in their enclosure they normally have no problem with, but if I pick one up suddenly it's the scariest thing in the world. They hate pretty much all tools, except for the watering can, since I use it to refill their water every day.

Well, of course the tools are scary when they suddenly begin to move around! I mean, after all, they live quietly and peacefully in the corner at all times without moving, right? And then suddenly, there they are, flying around like living beasts at the ends of your hands, making dust and disrupting the bedding! Aaawk! Squaaawk! Fears and terrors! Panic and pandemonium!! :lau

I don't have chickens, but you should see my horses if I wear a hoodie with the hood up... you would think the world was ending...

Horses, haha. Not to derail the thread here, but ... back in my desert days, when I was ignorant of horses, I went on trail ride on my green 3-yo, gentle, pretty-much broke, sweet, calm Arabian filly, with a nice can of root beer in my back pack. After galloping and trotting and walking almost two hours, I stopped, laid the reins across her neck and took that can of soda out; then, still in the saddle, popped it open. Did you know a hot, fizzy soda sounds just like a rattlesnake? Wahaha! I threw that can about 30 feet in the air while grabbing for the reins on my spinning, bucking, rearing, wild mustang! We both survived, but we both also needed baths when we got home.
