My case doesn't involve the combs although they do have some darkening edges. The last few days, I've found an egg like this ATOP THE FREEZER, I use to feed the dogs, a table of sorts. My chickens are completely free range, they roost on the back porch. We're in the middle of -0 temps, snow. I set some plywood up to cut down on the wind. In the past my leghorns, Prod. Reds have done ok. I revolve water containers, throw cheese, lunchmeat, bread, hard boiled eggs so they have extra protein. Any idea what is up with this egg? I've seen frozen ones, but the shape, color isn't right for the Brown layers I have... I asked a vet Tech I know however she's quite deep into
DRAMA. She mentioned Bronchitis and something called IB? Oh, Lost one a few weeks ago to Mites. It was a bad year for Leghorns @ TSC.
