I love my dragon wing begonias for their beauty and ease in care and I always plant them in my pots on my porch with creeping jenny. This year my flowers look horrible and I have rebar, sticks of wood, and string all mangled together trying to keep my free range chickens out of my pots. That also makes my pots look terrible. Its almost July and this is the worst my porch has looked:barnie...the chickens are even eating my dragon wing begonias....is there anything I can do...at least to make next year good

Sorry...still trying to figure out how to reply, upload, and all that...pot is 24" wide and heavy and big...you can see my sticks and string...but they still get on edge and scratch if they can and actually eat dragon wing Begonias...I'm fighting this to the end...there has to be a way to balance chickens and flowers...we free range and have 80 acres...I quit feeding the dogs on porch til after I lock chickens up at night...they aren't up at the house all day , but when they come you to the house, they demolish my flowers...

Just put them higher up on a stand like baneston said, it might help.
My chickens don't destroy my flower/forest garden but my veggie's are fenced off.

I do have a rooster that likes stepping on my plants and breaks off branches of my gooseberry's, he just MUST go over the thorny berry bush why would he bother using the path.
