Good morning! I’m approaching my first planting season as a duck owner (3 Pekin hens). We let our ducks and chickens free range the yard when we are home, and I have a patio I usually keep lots of potted flowers and herbs around. My chickens don’t bother them, but I suspect the ducks will! Before I go investing in plants, I’m looking for suggestions of flowers they won’t touch. I know some are toxic and will do my research on that, but I’m having trouble finding information on plants they generally won’t be interested in. Will they eat petunias? Impatiens?
Can you share your experience with this? Thanks in advance!

Yes ducks eat impatiens, and gardenias, hostas, japanese maples, sea lavender/statice, cotal bells
and anything “delicate”. They don’t eat ceanothus, manzanita, bacopa, berry vines or fig leaves. I *think* that deer resistant and duck resistant has a large overlap…and there is more info on deer resistant.
