Chickens eating pine pellets

So we just spread out some pine pellets in a few little areas to fill in and soak up water from all this constant rain after seeing recommendations, but some of the chickens/chicks are eating the stuff -__- Should I be concerned? I guess it does resemble their feed almost identically :/

Not constantly though right? Do you have grit for them? My chicks picked and pecked at the wood pellets and shavings I used and are all still fine, chicks are quite curious.

Yeah they're not eating like a whole BUNCH but kinda just snacking I guess lol D: Yup plenty of grit, thank you for the reassurance ^-^ Hoping theyll be oki

But I see now how this stuff reallyy EXPANDS. Kinda spooky, cause i have one "special" hen in particular who is actually a bit retarded from hatching from a huge saddlebag air cell egg.. and she's definitely eating this stuff the most lol
