chickens egg laying time as for as years

It all depends on the health of the chicken and the breed.

I have a Rhode Island Red hen that I just rescued who is 4 years old and she's been laying an egg almost every single day.

Hybrids like Red Sex Links have a life span of about 4 years, but they pretty much lay constantly their entire life span.

What breed are you looking into or do you currently have?

how long do chickens lay eggs for on average as far as time in years

really depends on breed. High production breeds lay very well for 2 years, then production drops off. Heritage breeds lay less per week, generally, but tend to lay for more years. Sometimes you’ll see a poster indicating they have 9+ year old hens that still lay an occasional egg. Of course, not every hen lives that long due to predation or illness, or being used for food.
