Hi everyone from Santa Ynez Ca. Where I live with my husband, son Golden Retriever and 17 year old Maine Coone cat. My flock of chickens is small at 4 Barred Rock and4 Americanas ‘though I would like to add a couple Buff Orpington if I could get some advice as to how and when to introduce them to my young flock.have a great day everyone!

Welcome to BYC. In addition to the article linked by @N F C , there are zillions of threads on the Managing Your Flock forum and some of the other forums too, about this very subject. You should be able to find answers to all your questions by perusing various articles and threads. But if you don't, all you have to do is create your own thread and ask!
