Howdy! I've recently encountered my first death from my flock, a 1 yr old easter egger fell off the roost at night, was laying face down on ground the next morning with purpleish comb. I chocked it up to heart disease and an inevitable death. That was about four or so weeks ago, and last night another chicken fell off the roost dead last night. This one was a 2 yr old blue andalusian. Her comb/wattles were also purpleish. I know there is no way to find out exactly without an autopsy, so if another one dies I will be sending it off for testing, unfortunately I did not think of that before disposing the chickens. Does anyone have any insight or experience as to whether they both could have coincidentally died from heart disease in almost the same exact manner?
Thanks,
Jenny

I guess look all the rest of the birds over real good and look at all the droppings and write down any symptoms of disease you might find. If you keep the food in sunlight or something maybe switch it as that can kill vitamins etc
