This is marcel she is a very docile active chicken awhile ago I noticed she been missing some feathers we are just going into spring her so I figured it was stress or something along those lines I don’t believe it’s lice / insects because no one has it her regular feathers you might be able to see it they are almost flared out she looks like she’s been roughed up more than the rest I have 10 hens no roosters the only other thing I can think of that we had a issue was she has laided an under developed ehh awhile back / didn’t eat very good if y’all have any ideas what could be causing this if it’s Nora or if I should be worried please let me know they are about a year old road island reds free range on layer feed

Is it possible it's molting? Maybe it's lice or chicken mites (which I would be concerned about). I am new to taking care of chickens so I'm not 100% sure.
I am also quite new I don’t think it’s lice I didn’t see any flea dirt and her comb is still bright red / she must in theory be healthy they do roll around / on a good day the high is 40 molting I have no idea they are young and haven’t had a molt yet I believe it’s around 12-15 months I’m not positive but I think it’s around there my only thought is she could have pulled them of because is stress? They were in the coop for a prolonged time we had extreme cold weather her in the mid west for a couple weeks I did have the majority of my hens rip out their tummy feathers because they thought their eggs were going to hatch? None of them really say on them for very long

Hard to say what is going on there.
It could be a partial molt(happens sometimes in the first fall/winter),
or feather picking by herself or the other birds.
You need to look at skin level to see if any new pin feathers are growing in.

Always good to check for bugs.
My Bug Check notes:
Have you checked them over real well for mites and/or lice?

Google images of lice/mites and their eggs before the inspection so you'll know what you're looking for.

Part the feathers right down to the skin around vent, head/neck and under wings.

Best done well after dark with a strong flashlight/headlight, easier to 'catch' bird and also to check for the mites that live in structure and only come out at night to feed off roosting birds.

Wipe a white paper towel along the underside of roost to look for red smears(smashed well fed mites).

Have you wormed them? If you worm your chickens when they are molting (or just when they are growing new feathers) with the active ingredient fenbendazole, commonly sold as Safeguard, that can cause the feathers to grow back funky like that.

I have not de worked them they have been in the coop for awhile and I haven’t seen any other signs but I will look into that

My Silver Laced Wyandotte molted about 2 months ago and she was 10 months old. I don't understand?
