Chickens feet are very pink...Its freezing cold here, but is that normal. ?

Those pictures look very similar to our chickens’ feet in the winter. I wouldn’t be too concerned, especially if there’s no snow or ice on the ground.

Thats
Ok. Make sure their coop isn’t drafty, and if you knit, sweaters can be good for molting hens. I don’t think the feet themselves are the problem.
Thats Actually a great idea! I can't knit very well, but I do have a couple kinda thick saddle back protector things. That might provide a little warmth. One of my Dominiques especially, she looks extra miserable and like a half plucked chicken.. I feel so bad for her.. Thanks.

Missing this many feathers?

Just how many degrees(please denote C or F) below freezing?

Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

Massachusetts. And .. yes... more than that. She's looking like a half plucked chicken. All of her back and butt and belly are no feathers. Just chicken skin . Basically just her wings, head and neck. I've decided to put a thick saddle protector pad on her back. Per another members idea of knitting a sweater. I don't knit really so I think that will help a little.

Any pin feathers growing in?

On the Dominique she does have a few pin feathers but her belly is just skin right now. I have been a bit concerned about that. But maybe she's just slower coming in because she's so uncomfortable right now. I'll keep an eye on it. I did see her preening some of her pin feathers today and it looked like quite a lot of large dried white dandruff looking material dropping off. Not sue if that's normal. I'll keep an eye on her.
