Chickens fine this morning - then one dead on the nest - no marks

All my girls were fine this morning. Went out to coop tonight, and one hen Sally was dead in the nest. Not a mark on her. We buried her. OH My Hen! I can't imagine what did her in? I suppose that birds are good at hiding illness until they are overwhelmed. They eat the hay I put in for nests, but they don't smell, they eat find and look good. Wouldn't I notice sour crop?

First losses are the worst...

Sounds like she was egg bound? I'm so sorry for your loss. We just had our first and although I've heard time heals all wounds, I have yet to believe it fully.
