If you have never been to good show and keep decent birds going to a show and spending the day is a must. you learn about 5 yrs worth knowledge just by visiting with the exhibitors, we love talking about our birds. Not to mention getting to see the finest examples of any breed in the flesh, go..... you won't regret it.

Are there shows in or near Denver? The only show I know of close to me (Pueblo - ~2 hours South of Denver) is the CO State Fair which is nothing like your description - exhibitors are rushing their birds into carriers the second judging is complete, or they're just not there at all. I've gone many times and have yet to converse with an exhibitor.

There's that voice in my head again.....yep, Grandpa Walton!

Here's hoping for a rewarding trip!

Do you bathe before you leave or when you arrive?

I give birds to young folks, who do indeed show and who will breed and will be the stars of tomorrow and if this crazy world holds together, will be true Old Timers of the future, some 50 years from now. If you don't pass on what you got from the last of the folks from the 1890's (my grandmother) and pass it on to those who'll be living in 2070, where's the bridge?

I'm delivering the last of the Frank Reese Barred Rocks to a couple of excited young men in KY. I got a pullet who'd mop up the floor with any other, at any show, anywhere. Yup, she's just that good. But I digress...

I hope to bring a little something from our breeding program of last spring. I'm looking for a particular pullet or two for February's hatching. We'll see. Might come back empty handed. But, I doubt it.

Now, dang, I've got to get some sleep. Behave yourselves.
