Are there shows in or near Denver? The only show I know of close to me (Pueblo - ~2 hours South of Denver) is the CO State Fair which is nothing like your description - exhibitors are rushing their birds into carriers the second judging is complete, or they're just not there at all. I've gone many times and have yet to converse with an exhibitor.
Me Two. Drove all the way to the fair with the kids expecting to be wowed.
The kids were wowed with the rides, water features, alpacas, milking a real cow (at least one of them)
Henry was insulted as only a 6 year old boy could be by the starving Bronco cheerleaders that kept asking him for a lick of his ice cream (actually very funny to mom and dad),
and 8 champion chickens and roos that were all miniatures compared to my rough riders at home.
Big let down for me cause I had to stay all day chucking out money for @#$@$%#$^ while the kids rode rides I felt werent safe, exposed themselves to every germ in 600 miles and ate junk food. The best part of it was the 11 dollar cold generic beer and the fact that there was a Cracker Barrel on the way home.

At which time all the old hens nag the young roosters about leaving their clothes all over the floor, putting the toilet seat DOWN and about NOT leaving their dishes in the living room. After that? Any young roo is ready to do anything possible to get out of the old lady pen and back into "normal" society where a young rooster can pee off the back roost in full view of the ducks if he wants to without being nagged, nagged, nagged!

they are much brighter in the sunlight. The showroom lighting just kills the color. They are as wild as a March hare when free ranging, so I thought I would have to do a lot of show coop training, but that only took less than a minute. I have gotten to really enjoy these birds. One of the things I really like about them is that none of them have flat front ends. Many large fowl have flat lower chests, but none of these do and again it was a random selection.

They are very pretty in the sun.

The young show groupies really like Al, so he can't be all that bad.

Really nice Reds! And congratulations on all your showing wins!

Could you give an example of a flat lower chest (on a chicken)? I think I know what you mean but I want to doublecheck.

I am on my way to a show early Friday morning. I will try to remember to post an example when I return Sunday if I can get out of Reno Sunday. There is going to be a snowstorm up that way starting tomorrow through Sunday. Once you see it you will notice how many birds have this problem.

Mornin', Al!

Almost killed a dog in your honor this morning but he ran too fast when I opened the back door....will have to skinny open a window on the low low the next time he shows up to get in a good shot on him. If I see him again, he'll die. The gun is loaded and waiting by the back door, a bullet with the word "stray" right on the rim is in the chamber and sweatin' to get OUT.
