After carrying 43 Cornish Crosses invidivually from one stall pen to another today, I totally agree and wish I'd read this last night. Although, I did get some much needed exercise, I guess!
did the same thing with 32. did you ever figure it would take so long to move the move endless supply of birds,

Y'all don't have carts, baskets, boxes or totes in which to transport these critters?

yes i do bee. i carried them from the basement to the pen in the yard. i did 6 birds at a time up the steps and back down the steps. never will i brood birds in the basement.



p.s. the 5th is friday so i will shoot for the weekend after

No, I didn't, and it became increasingly more difficult to catch each subsequent chicken! You'd think I was killing each one, with the way they carried on. I need to rethink mu philosophy on moving and dealing with my meaties and my layers. This is an amazingly good thread. Trends come and go, but solid experience and wisdom are invaluable.
