O.K. here goes. I like #1. If her pale face indicates that she is slower maturing, then she looks like she's in it for the long haul. She seems fuller feathered and has nice legs, as if that is where her development has gone. Her back seems flat and I think wide. #2 is built quite differently and the sloping back is a bit off to me. #2 seems like she is developing faster, I would guess more like a production bird. Feathers don't seem as smooth or full. To me, each one may very well have a purpose. But #1 I think would be better for breeding?? Gonna go hide under a chair now

Hello everyone!

Thanks to all who've taken the quiz so far. It's purpose is purely, purely educational. It is not meant to give anyone a tizzy!

The reason the quiz is geared toward the more recent beginner or intermediate level chickener is simple. There's just stuff in this quiz that rarely, rarely gets taught well in other sections or threads. Just the way it is. No way I'd let the experienced take this quiz, hahahaha. They know in 4 seconds of looking. And.... that's the point. There just isn't a substitute for the experienced eye. No book, no forum can give you that, only Professor Experience.

The quiz would have been better had a hired a professional photographer and photographed them on a green lawn background and a sunny day, but alas, we're under a heavy snow storm warning, so that was out.

But, it doesn't matter. Even with those few, poor photos, the lessons are right there. Thanks again for participating.

Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you! Developing an eye can ONLY happen this way! We are all eagerly absorbing these lessons and look forward to more!

See you can still get lathered up............ I don't think the other gals will be very vocal cause they know it's true, now go and fetch me that roll a duct tape, grey is my favorite color hehehehehee.

You'll get no argument from me, Brother Al. I'd like to use duct tape on most of the women I know too. But...let me throw this out on the table to be considered. Do ya think the wimmen would stop talking if the men could think with the northern brain~ instead of the southern set~ and just do right by the wimmen folk?

BTW, I like the grey for when I'm working but I really, really like the red for when I want to go out on the town. I'll bring both.

Never know what I will need to tape up next....

I think what is really the point of contention is that most men don't know how to properly use duct tape. Misuse can and usually does cause bitter recriminations, nagging, incessant bitching and sometimes cutting the cables on all electronics. Which then leads to more misuse of duct tape. A vicious cycle.

x2! I have a good idea of what to feed, how to house, keep them healthy, etc. What I want to learn is what to look for in a chicken, and why. This thread and it's wonderful OT's have been invaluable!

Well I can't disagree with you on that Bee, I am a southern brain thinker myself, but it ain't got me no PHD yet LOL. I like the red tape idea as well it's much more attractive.

Fred :............. Your doin a great job with the quiz, the folks seem very engaged and participation is high, and I think it's a great thing for them. They ain't gonna learn this kind of good stuff on the Foo-Foo threads.

I don't have any chickens right now and it's been a LOT of years since I had any. So I don't know if I qualify to participate.

IMO only I would keep both birds. I think Bird 1 is your layer and bird 2 is a rooster. Ok I might chuck bird 2 in the oven if I got hungry. lol

We invented duct tape and have single handedly elevated it to the most used tool assy in our tool box, right there on the top shelf. I have some on my left work boot right now, it's doubling as a temporary sole heheheheee, looks good too.
