No chickens here yet, but will take a stab. . . because gender was not mentioned in the description of the birds, #1 is a hen not yet laying and #2 is a roo.

EDIT: now that I have actually looked up ISA Brown's I know my guess is incorrect. I bow out and curiously await the answer from the quiz giver.

I know how you hen's like shoes so much, you revere them above all else, for me a duct taped work boot is my utility fashion statement, and I make it look good too LOL.

Love a confident man, Al. And I like duct taped work boots...but that's just the redneck coming out in me. I don't think a man can really call himself a man unless some part of his wardrobe or truck has duct tape on it, can he?

I am certain that you make the duct taped boot look good. And It also brings to the fore front your thrify nature which is yet another good quality in a person. The fact that you are a good cook as well means you are very likely the whole package and your wife is a very blessed and fortunate woman. However, I maintain that you, as well as others, are not completely up to speed on the best use for duct tape.

I'm having a difficult time determining the feather quality, but....

#1 Legs look too close together and her tail seems pinched to me, not good for laying. Also her neck seems a bit long and her back seems flat, I'm not seeing a gradual slope there. Her comb and wattles are pale and underdeveloped and she tends to tuck herself under when she roosts. This one would be a cull.

#2 I like her comb and wattles, looks to be ready to lay. But her chest seems a bit low. It looks better once her crop is full. I don't think her tail is pinched, but she does tend to hold it a bit high. She seems more active. Her legs are a good bit apart, so she should be a good layer. I would keep her.

Edited for addendum:

Thanks Bee. I enlarged the photos....I guess I'm too inexperienced. I'm not seeing anything jump out at me. #2 The chest feathers look a bit ratty and the tail feathers look a bit off. But that could be the position she's in. They look tilted.

Just a pointer...if you click on these pics they should get larger or you can go up to the gallery and click on them and they get really large and easy to see. After I did that, I could really pick out more of the details on these birds.
