Chickens have the sniffles

Hello, I live in winter country and my 60+ chickens have gotten the sniffles this winter.... I sell 3 to 4 dozen eggs each week and I don't want to give a pharmacial (sp) antibiotic because then I would have to waste the eggs for a couple of weeks... Has anyone had any success with either colliod siliver or grapefruit seed extract or another alternative option to deal with the chicken sniffles.... I'm thinking that all I should need is an anti-bacterical, anti-viral type substance... Can anyone see any reason chickens couldn't take the grapefruit seed extract???

Try putting some apple cider vinegar in their water (with the "Mother" left in it).

I think (don't quote me on this, you may want to do a search - it's been discussed on here before) it is one TBSP per gallon of water - and only use the plastic waterers - not the metal ones.

It is amazing how much this helps their immune systems. (helps with respiratory "sniffles" too).

I read, here actually, that cinnamon is good for the sniffles. You put it in their drinking water, I believe. Not sure how much though. Boost their immunity with vitamins, that might be just enough.
