The same issue is going on in the town next to ours. So many people there want to raise chickens that it was even advertised in the newspaper. Keep pushing, good luck and welcome to BYC!

Hi, I also live I. Bethlehem! This is my first day on this site and I couldn't figure out how to do the new member intro so I decided to just jump into this thread. I'm on board with the movement. With or without a permit I plan on raising chickens! However if its not to hard to do I would like to keep it on the up and up. I'm going to check the local laws thread next but if you have found any recent info I would love to hear it.

I also live in Bethlehem. I just gave up my small flock because our dog was too interested. I was told three years ago that chickens were illegal although the animal officer told me that "as long as they aren't a nuisance and there aren't complaints, they don't actively look for them." I know of several people within city limits who have them. I would pay money to have a permit but was told it was not possible.
