Chickens in Florida?

It’s hot specifically central Florida and south. We have an open air run/coop not as fancy as https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/jens-hens-a-southern-texas-coop.75707/ but same idea. Iv only had chickens starting last April but we did have Hurricanes hit and I did build up part of it with dirt ( even tho we don’t normally flood ) and added cinderblocks my ladies were fine never even slowed down laying. The wind at ground level is much less than higher up. As long as nothing is left to get blown around they will be fine. I’m inland so it’s never as extreme as the coast. Besides that flies and hawks have been the biggest problem besides heat.
