Okay, I hope this is the proper place to put this! This is what I'd like to call a study of chicken behaviors in slow motion. My shiny new phone takes slow motion videos, and I have discovered over the past few weeks of owning it that when slowed down, chicken behaviors are quite fascinating! I hope others find these neat, too!
EDIT: So, if you're like me and out in the middle of nowhere with dodgy internet service, some of these videos probably will look horrible when you play them. That's because YouTube automatically sets the quality of the video depending on your internet speed. You can manually fix this on each video, but it will make them take longer to load. Some of them really aren't worth watching unless the quality is high, however, so I would suggest adjusting the quality if you can.
For those unsure of how to do this, first, you have to start the video. Once it is playing, click the pause button, then mouse over (or touch) the video so that the menu icons show. It should look like this on a computer (and mostly the same on a mobile device):
You will notice a little gear icon in the lower right corner, where the red arrow is pointing. Click on this to pull up a menu, then click on 'Quality'. From there, select the quality you want, but preferably the highest possible. You can probably get away with a lower quality on many of these, but most are worth it to set it to the highest quality!
Anyway, I can only put 5 videos per post, so I will start with some of my hens jumping for a nice snack of whole wheat bread:
