can chickens and horses be in the same barn or should they have there own coop away from the horse barn, we board the d/w horse now but we are looking to build new home with a barn in the spring

My chickens have their own coop, but they LOVE to hang out in the barn!!! I now have a couple of "barn chickens" that refuse to go back to the coop. They do fine in the barn and the horses don't seem to mind a bit. My barn has a dirt floor so the chicken poo isn't a problem. If you have concrete isles, you may not want poo on it. [IMG]
