Chickens in the Garden

My 10 wk. old fryer chicks have found my cucumber patch. Any ideas on how to encourage them to stay out of the garden? I've had layers for a long time without this problem. . . any help? I have an electric fence with two low wires, but they just slide right under.

from Washington!! Is there a way to block them out with a small "make shift" fence?? I only have show girls and layers that mostly free roam in their own yard, So I don't know if I am much help

Chicken wire fencing is great at keeping chickens out!! No garden is safe around a hungry chicken!

Poultry wire or deer netting are cheap options. Deer netting is especially cheap, but you do have to place an occasional landscape staple along the bottom, as it's rather flimsy.
