I live in an unincorporated city on 1/4 acre. Within 50 feet of my house, I have two house neighbors and a church. Within 100 feet there is also a elementary school, a 50+ unit apartment building and more house neighbors.
Presently only have two chicks, although I am scheduled to pick up two more on monday. Zoning regulations allow up to 25 hens which is great. I don't think I'll get close to this number however. Even if you are within regulations, people can still make life difficult for you if they complain.
Hopefully my neighbors mind their own business.
