chickens into the run

Gooooood morning BYC. sunday I finished the coop and run. We put the chickens into the coop. they love the room. They walk to the pop door look out even step on the top rung but they will not go into the run. My question is why wont they go into the run? they are about 8-9 weeks old mixed breeds.

Chickens are....welll...chicken! Give them time, one will get adventurous & the others will follow. Or you can toss some goodies out to encourage them. It's not a bad thing that they stay in the coop though for a few days, then they'll head back in there at night on their own. I always lock my new birds in the coop the first day & night so they know where to go back to at night.
