My children loved the chickens, rabbits, goats and horses when they were young. As teenagers all that stuff was way to much trouble for teenagers.
Now they are grown. My grandchildren think Granny is cool. Including my 12 year old grandson.
Give him another year or two and he will think I am crazy. Then like my kids, he will outgrow that, have kids of his own and tell stories about going to Granny's house. I no longer have the horses or goats but the chickens and rabbits are fun for the grandkids and supply food for me. I am hoping that my own children will have some of the chicken, rabbit bug for their grandchildren.
I am just one old lady trying to keep the spirit going. That is all any of us can do. I find that most children will return to the ways in which they grew up.
