I have a chicken that is disabled. She walks on her knees. She's been in the coop with the other chickens in a separate cage. She was like that for a couple weeks. I finally took her put of the cage and all they do is peck her head. I've used no peck and that seems to help... Will they stop over time? I spend a lot of time with them and correct them when they do this.

Thanks

It is in their nature to pick less than perfect birds/ill birds to force them from the flock as they are regarded as ill. It is very unlikely that they will ever accept her as a flock member. Can you provide her with a separate enclosure near the flock ?

That's actually his neck. This is his rear end.

How would I know of the other bird has mites?

Thanks

Look at her vent or under a wing , white crusty eggs stuck at the bottom of the feathers , or tiny little bugs running around will tell you ,

She will get picked on forever , you can’t teach chickens to be nice or politically correct
