Chickens laying on roost

About every other evening I am having some chickens laying on the roost. I suspect my speckled sussex. They are 5 1/2 months old and might not know any better. My Welsummers and Golden Comets are laying in the nest box so I am hoping this will stop and they should learn from example. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

you are on the right track. If you collect the eggs every day then put a fake egg or golf ball in the place(s) you would like her to lay. She is young and it might take a little while. Are your nest boxes bare? My hens like hay to lay on. I put hay on the coop floor and my newbies tend to start there and may their own nest at first.
