So today my two girls laid eggs that are very different to normal. One laid an egg much smaller than usual. The other laid one with an unusual speckled pattern when normally her eggs are quite dark. Any ideas why? Pictures show their 'usual' eggs along with today's eggs for comparison. Nothing has changed in regards to what they're eating etc.

How old are these birds and how long have they been laying?
The speckled one almost look porous, could check that by candling.
Eggs can change in size and coating from day to day.
Could be a one off glitch...could be stress, any unusual activity going on?
I don't see anything alarming.

24 weeks old been laying for about 5 weeks now. The only thing that has upset them is yesterday the neighbours had a BBQ which they weren't too impressed with. And their nice was crying a lot which seemed to upset them but other than that, nothing.

That might do it....it's a wait and see scenario.
