On a related note, I used to know a woman who not only periodically gave beer to her goats (she claimed it was a natural wormer) but also smoked with them. She'd stand out there puffing a cigarette, and about five overweight boer nannies would crowd around, sticking their noses in the smoke cloud.

My dad would feed the goats ciggarettes, said the same thing it was to worm them. They started grabbing whole packs out of his shirt pocket those were the least wormy goats on earth.

Herbal tinctures are pretty much all made in a base of brandy or vodka or some other forum of high potency alcohol. And some folks treat sour crop with shots of red wine.

All things in balance, especially chicken booze.
