Did you bathe her / do anything about itOne thing that I learned about chickens is they are ultra resilient. I had 1 hen lay a shell-less egg and it was in the early stages of her 1st moult. I was convinced she was dying and she turned out just fine.
Scratch and peck layer. They get their own egg shells fed back to them.Give extra calcium (a calcium tablet or calcium gluconate) daily for a week. It happens sometimes with younger layers. I had one with the same issue early on. She's almost 5 now. I hope that helps remedy the issue.
What do you feed?
That is a good amount of calcium. Hopefully, it's just a "hiccup," but I would still give the extra calcium for a week to see if that improves things a bit. How old is she?Scratch and peck layer. They get their own egg shells fed back to them.
She was born in April of 22 so she’s less than a year old. She’s been laying since Sept I think with no issues. I brought her inside soaked her and checked inside her vent w gloved lubed finger. Some light yellow stuff came out I didn’t feel an egg or broken egg shell. That is a good amount of calcium.
