Chickens loose on the road!

what i don't understand about the 4-h animal projects and people dumping them after the fair is done is that our fair has a live stock sale the very last night of the fair...isn't that standord for every fair?, we're a 4-h family and i could never dream of doing any thing like that!!!

I called the sheriff this morning. They would let me know if anyone called. I ended up searching myself around about a 2 mile radius - checked with all of the neighbors. No one had any chickens like this. They are for sure dumped. It's sad as they are so sweet. I ended up giving them to a neighbor friend who will take good care of them as we don't want any more at this point. I do not understand people who dump animals.

I'm certain that whoever did it knew that all of us around that area had poultry and we'd find them - thank God we did.

This is a passionate issue with me.

If you can't commit to the care of an animal then don't take on the respondsibility. I do understand that sometimes circumstanses arise where the animals need new homes but the dumping bit just PO's me. Ok, done with my rant

Thank goodness you took them in and found them a home. They sound like beautiful birds.

it's seems like next year my dd will be the only one showing in poultry...if i find one of my hens for sale, she'll have a lot of explaining to do!!!
