Chickens losing feathers

Thank you for this video!! I think I know what the problem is! I have 11 chickens and about 8 of them have been affected with the mites. I have been using the diatomaceous earth but not liberally enough. Any idea of how long it will take for the chickens to grow their feathers back?

If they have an active infestation, it would be better to use a Permethrin based poultry dust or spray to eliminate the mites. Treat the chickens, clean out and treat your coop as well - repeat in 7-10days or follow the label on your product.

Feather loss can be caused by a number of things - if the feather shaft is still in the skin, then the feathers will not grow back until the birds molt.
