I have 5 RIR Hens 1RIR rooster n 3 ISA hens. Since the beginning of summer all of my hens have bare backs. I thought they were molting but wouldn't they have thier features by now? Plus I discovered one has an open wound by her wing. Is my rooster doing this? I got them all 11/2 yrs. ago at the same time. Never had a problem til now.

Feather loss that is concentrated on the back is indicative of rooster damage - and the wound on your hen may also be rooster damage depending on just where on the bird it is ("by her wing" could include a pretty broad area of the bird).

Sounds like the rooster did it. Many with small flocks just use hen saddles. I have a few girls who are favorites and get bad backs so they get saddles. There is a thread for how to make your own saddles here. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/424354/free-chicken-apron-saddle-pattern
