Chickens Magazine from Hobby Farms

Anyone get this? I saw it at TSC, and the rooster on the cover (Summer 2011) is gorgeous

I was wondering what breed it was. Noticed the ginormous what I am assuming are "spurs" - those look positively scary

I saw this and thought he was amazing too! I contacted the magazine even and they did not know what he was. He was photographed in Hawaii. I don't have any roosters and didn't particularly want any but I would have one that looked like him!

I was going to get a copy yesterday at tsc but it was 5.99!!!!! so i got a subscription card out of one gonna see if they hv discount or sale price for subscription.

I know this is an old thread, but I found it when looking on the web through Hobby Farm sites. That rooster is gorgous. He looks like a gold duckwing color. His comb could be a cushion or a modified rose comb or pea?. I have seen Ameraucana crosses that look similar to him.


This rooster I have is a product of a Gold duckwing Phoenix rooster over a blue wheaton Ameraucana hen. He is about 9 months old and hopefully he will fill out like that beautiful rooster on the Hobby Farm magazine.
