Please help!!!!
My chickens were attacked by a stray feral cat the other day, and 2 of my six chickens are missing. One can run really really fast, so we think one could be alive but is hiding somewhere, we think it’s under the shed. I found a poop and feather twice going up the yard, maybe a sign ones alive, or both? I left food and water under one of the openings under the shed- nothing. What should I do, and if one or two are under there how long could they survive? Do you think they’re stuck? We saw a black and white cat scaling the shed, and yesterday around 7pm I saw a black and white cat the end of our yard, peaking around where my chicken coop is, around all the brush. Please help.
Thanks in advance

It's possible that they're still out there somewhere. We live in the mountains and something got one of our chickens, but she ended up coming back 3 days later. I would say keep leaving food and water out for them, and maybe try calling for them? (Idk if your chickens come for you but mine do so 🤣) Other than that idk if there's anything else you can do. Just keep doing what you're doing. You could also try to set a camera up somewhere you think they may be

If the cat is coming back to the coop that may indicate she's looking for more prey because she knows they're there now, so I would also keep an eye on that :D

I'm also not convinced about the cat. It's hard to say without being able to see your property, but chickens can hide out for a day or two after a major scare or attack. I've found that it's more often a case of maybe one was still alive after the attack and then they scamper off somewhere dark and hidden to die unfortunately.

Yeah that's what our chicken did when she was attacked. She hid herself somewhere but thankfully made it back to the coop. She didn't look good though so if yours aren't showing or don't seem to be eating the food, it may be too late

I'm sorry this happened. Personally I would not put food and water out for them. They know where home, safety, food, water and their companions are. I think they will come home if and when they are able. Hoping for a good outcome!

Edit typo.
