WOW, That's quite a mix there. I personally just feed egg layer and give that other stuff as a treat. Yes keep grit out all the time. I mix my grit with oyster shell.

I don't know about your specific mix. How did you come up with it? In order to make a home made formula that will meet all of your bird's needs, you would need a nutritional analysis of each product, as well as a program that you could plug your contents into individually and by weight, and the program would calculate your final nutritional analysis. I'm guessing this mix will be seriously deficient in mineral content, most likely protein, and too high in fat, too low in calcium. AND, it will cost you a lot more than simply buying a blended feed from a feed store. Where are you (generally speaking) and do you have any feed stores that sell blended feed near you? BTW, pretty avatar birds!! Colombian Rock or Delaware???

Hi Lazy gardener
Respect your opinion
This has been a study of the different types of seeds individually,
seeing its benefits and content.

For example ;
Corn:
Imparts a favorable color to yolks and skin.
Contains abundant minerals like: Phosphorous, Magnesium, Manganese, Zinc, Iron, Cooper, ect, ect ....
Is rich in vitamin B and E

Flax Seeds:

They are also a good source of magnesium, manganese, ect, ect
A natural source of Fiber and Omega-3

Sunflower Seeds:

They are plentiful in vitamin E and minerals such as Selenium and Magnesium
hearty source of protein,
Rich in B-complex.

You, can see the remaining seeds, their benefits and content.

I put those 3 examples of seeds.

All my chickens are very healthy

Previously my whole life was to raise birds.

To that mixture, I always try to add a little bit of Calci -Lux

also in separate dishes, I put Grit and Egg Shells (bake the shells first).

Around 2 - 3 times a week, I give you:
Chickweed, Dandellions, Marigolds, Pumkins, Basil, Parsley, ect, ect
and I try to give them a little bit of Dried Mealworms and Cracked Corn

My question is only:

To the mixture of seeds previously,

How much Kelp can I put ???

Thanks --George

Hi farmer browne

I think that is very important to give Dried mealworms
This is very good website :
https://www.chubbymealworms.com/collections/dried-mealworms
I breeding birds before all my life
I don't like to raise mealworms...I'm not expert...I don't like.
Always I mix my own seeds for my birds.
and I tried to mix all the seeds for my chickens and they are happy.
I first check all benefits and contain for each seeds
I buy the 50 pounds for some each seeds, and the cost to the end is very cheap.

Best regards ---George
