Chickens moving to an immovable run

The coop looks similar to this picture (which I just took from the internet). The run is not terraced. He brought in some dirt to level off the area where the run will be.

Ok so yeah you'll want to suggest doing deep bedding, which is a dry system, in the coop, and deep litter in the run. The deep bedding can be dumped in the run on cleanouts (my preference as the material then does double duty as run litter), or some folks choose to take it straight to a compost pile. If the run is decently leveled off then litter all ending up downhill shouldn't be an issue.
