In the Brooder
My next door neighbor just before passing asked me to take his hens to add to my existing flock. One hen months before survived a raccoon attack that scared her neck, the feathers never grew back. A couple months ago I believe she was egg bound, she seemed okay a couple of days before, she stopped eating and drinking. The next morning as usual came to feed my chickens, my hen waited patiently lifted her head up to say goodby. Closed her eyes an fell asleep.
My two older hens have been with me since 2017, recently one of the older hens stopped eating and drinking for about 3 -4 days. We had a very hot week, I believe it was too much for her. I have provided cool treats and a fan for a cool breeze. No hope.
I noticed with both hens they waited until I came for feeding time before saying goodby. Animals seem to know when their time is near. I have noticed that with a couple human friends that passed, they stopped eating and drinking as their time was at hand.
Most religious bible teachers gloss over things that many pet and livestock owners question. If animals are God's creatures will we see them on the other side. It would be narcissistic to think only humans only go to heaven, it would be dull not to see them there to.
What have other members thought of this?
