Chickens not bathing?

I have 8 TSC sex link pullets that are around 9 to 10 weeks old. I picked up a mortar tub and filled it with sand and DE for them to take dust baths. I have yet to see them get in and dust themselves up. It seems kind of odd that they don't want to take dust baths. Any thoughts? I may add some dirt to see if that helps motivate them.

I'd try adding some nice dry mulch. They love that here. I can't keep them out of my gardens.

Maybe you just need to show it to them.......kinda dig around in it while they're watching.......monkey see, monkey do, ya know? LOL

Put dry potting soil in it, too. Trust me, they LOVE that stuff!

If all else fails, plant something in it. (Come see my potted plants for evidence. Wait, I should say: come see my PLANTLESS pots for evidence.)
