Chickens not eating a lot?

I have 3 3 month old silkies and I put about 1/3 cup of feed 3x a day and they never finish their food. They don’t even seem to eat half of it. Is this normal or are they eating less than normal?

What are you feeding?
Is the feed the only source of food or do they have access to plants, bugs, etc.?
Are they active?
Are they growing and feathering out? Weighing them a few times a week to see if they are gaining weight will help you see if they are eating enough.
