Chickens not laying anymore.

Hi to everyone, we have 9 chickens that are 1 year old and have been very healthy. we just brought in a 1 year old rooster. our egg production has dropped in the last 8 days when we brought him in. is this normal? he seems very healthy and the girls all seem good, is there something we should be looking for or something we should be doing different? we are new to this and the girls have 1/8 acre to roam and we only buy the best food for them. thanks for reading.

Roasters do lower egg production but not that bad.

Do they always lay in nest boxes or is it like Easter every day. Could they be hiding them? perhaps the new addition is freaking them out and as soon as everyone settles down things will return to normal. give it some time or perhaps go look under some bushes
