Chickens not laying eggs

My hens have not laid in about 2 weeks, and its been raining non-stop. Maybe the lack of constant light throws them off?? Although, we now have a goat so the hens have been eating his food - minerals included. Not sure if this makes a difference...

I don't know how old your girls are, but I have one who has just started laying, though it might be two, but I think it's just the BR. Anyway, Friday night I found the first 2 eggs since we got them in May! And haven't seen an egg in the last 2 days... We just went out to take a peek and see if anything had happened and my SO found 2 eggs in a 6 inch gap on the roof of the coop! Check all the "normal" hiding spots, then start looking in the truly weird ones! They may have just found a better hiding spot, lol.

I think we have seen it all... we have have five hens and one female duck (who thinks she is a hen)... we had a drake who was mating with the hens. Not trying, but really mating with all of them. (He found a new home in a lake far, far away!)...

We usually have around 3-4 eggs a day. They stop if it's bad weather, or if they get upset about something. We have had the torpedo-shaped eggs after a day off... or some really tiny ones...well... it has been HOT here. No eggs. No surprise.. but tonight I found seven eggs on the ground in the shade. Too hot in the second story nest boxes? (the coop is in the shade!?)... My question- not certain these eggs are from today.

Do I need to install A/C in the coop (just kidding!).

Thanks so much!!!

Anyone else have the experience of duck (drake) mating with hens (chickens!) He was way too mean! Had to find him a new home!!!

Your hens certainly look healthy! Where do you live? These things can be dictated by the weather. Too cold , too hot etc. there are diseases that ultimately slow the egg laying down. Mycoplasma and coryza , just to name a few. But you would have seen other symptoms such as swelling around the face and eyes , wheezing and sneezing. What is the protein level in the food you are using? I recently had a dramatic drop in production and found it was a crow stealing my eggs.

My chickens have stopped laying for some time. But they have been sitting. I have even been hearing the laying announcement call. I just can't figure it out. Could they be hiding them, eating them, getting stolen? I have not got a clue.

I BOUGHT 6 RHODE ISLAND REDS SUPPOSED TO BE 1 YR OLD. NONE HAVE LAID YET IN GOOD WEATHER WITH PURINA FEED AND FRESH WATER DAILY. WHAT ELSE CAN I DO?
