Chickens not laying

I have an easter egger she just turned 16 weeks this weekend and has been squatting for almost a week.
I feed fermented flock raiser and she gets to go outside and forage all day. I take it as meaning she's a very happy pullet.

At 16 weeks it may help if you start them on a quality Laying Mash or Laying Pellets. This will increase their calcium intake and provide better nutrition to enable laying.

that's awesome! I have a chicken named Einstein who lays everyday . She is free range and loves crickets. Easter eggers are beautiful birds.

Ol Grey Mare,
On average, chickens can begin to lay from 16-22 weeks at the latest. It depends on the type of chicken. But, if you suggest over 18 weeks is not a late bloomer, you are entitled to your opinion. One batch of my chickens didn't lay until 21 weeks old.

there are several breeds that often don't begin laying until after a year. 6 months is the average for most breeds I've researched for my own flock. That's 24 weeks.

Not every chicken is a production breed.
