Chickens on a Trial Basis

My City Council is considering issuing a small number of permits for people to "test" chickens in the city before rewriting the ordinance. Does anyone have any more information on this? Does your town do it? Is there a copy of the ordinance online?

I know that Portland, Maine had this for a while, but, this expired in November 2008, and I can no longer find information on it.

I have no idea! But get you that permit and get you them chickens!!!!


Be careful to keep all your neighbors EXTRA happy during that time and maybe it will pass no problem?!

I just hope if they 'change' their mind there aren't 200 hens ending up having to be euthenized because they had a change of heart at the end of all of this.

When would they issue these permits?

If they make an exception for a small number of people (or just me) it could be before the August meeting.

Havn't heard of it, but it sounds like a step in the right direction. I take it your meeting went well the other day? Did the letters help?
