Chickens on military bases

Actually, check with the housing office. The commander has a lot of other responsibilities, and is unlikely to want to meet to discuss backyard chickens. In the military you always go through channels.

Did you ever find anything out? I am moving with army husband to a base next year and want to know what to do with my feathered family. :(

I think it would be a base by base policy, not one thing across the board. Although I have to say that I wouldn't hold out your hopes too much unless you have only one or two.

I figured as much. It's going to be tough for me to leave all of my animal family behind, as I assume I will.

Well, thinking about it ahead of time is a good plan. One thing you need to consder is whether you will be living on base for sure, or possibly off base, in which case you would probably have more leeway in finding a place that you can take your animals.
